During the working abroad in Phnom Penh. I have told by many one whom visiting Cambodia for business about the cleaness of food. The major gossip from Phnom Penh about food and street hygiene is one of first topic that temporary visitor will be talk about.

After multiple period and stay to work for few week. The truth is yes, you may difficult to find the good food shop due to the density of residential area. Most of city are residential that you can't easy find restaurant there. Meanwhile foreigner cannot easy used to their street food or local food in market that really cheap. You need to find some general restaurant there to the choice.

You may prefered to stay in east KHAN CHAMKAR MON area for better peaceful and hotel. Compare to easy river access of KHAN DOUN PENH. The hotel around KHAN CHAMKAR MON maybe some expensive than other. But trust me it's worth of clean street and peaceful ambient. Many hotel around the place can provide you swimming pool also.
